Predator Free BOP is a community-led, backyard trapping initiative that aims to bring native birds back to our suburbs.

The biggest threat to our native birds are the rats who have taken over our native bush and urban areas. With the help of our sponsors; Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Tauranga City Council, Western Bay of Plenty District Council, Envirohub, NZ Landcare Trust, Bay Conservation Alliance and Department of Conservation our goal is to get a backyard rat trap into one in five houses in suburban Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty.
