Waste-free Christmas Wrapping Session

Come along to learn and practice gift wrapping with fabrics, inspired by beautiful techniques of Furoshiki - bring your gifts and wrap them during the session! We’ll supply some fabrics but please feel free to bring your own.
Why reconsider how you wrap presents?
• New Zealanders send over 100,000 tonnes of clothing and textiles to landfills each year – that’s a whopping big number! There are plenty of awesome things we could be doing with scrap fabrics before throwing them away, Furoshiki is just one of them!
• Most gift wrapping paper is not recyclable as it contains plastic additives – it cannot go into your yellow lid recycling bin. This means we’re using it for a very short time and then sending it straight to the landfill.
• Wrapping with fabrics is fun, creative, and easy to do – come find out!
Find out how you can give old clothing a second life this Christmas – no registration is needed, just come along.
