DESCRIPTION:Come along to learn and practice gift wrapping with fabrics\, inspired by beautiful techniques of Furoshiki – bring your gifts and wrap them during the session! We’ll supply some fabrics but please feel free to bring your own.\nWhy reconsider how you wrap presents?\n• New Zealanders send over 100\,000 tonnes of clothing and textiles to landfills each year – that’s a whopping big number! There are plenty of awesome things we could be doing with scrap fabrics before throwing them away\, Furoshiki is just one of them!\n• Most gift wrapping paper is not recyclable as it contains plastic additives – it cannot go into your yellow lid recycling bin. This means we’re using it for a very short time and then sending it straight to the landfill.\n• Wrapping with fabrics is fun\, creative\, and easy to do – come find out!\nFind out how you can give old clothing a second life this Christmas – no registration is needed\, just come along.
