Join Outflow Trust and Envirohub for a day of Coastal Care
Come along, get involved, and spend a morning caring for one of our beautiful coastal spaces.
We’re excited to be teaming up with Envirohub Bay of Plenty for the Climate Action Festival, running
from 14–20 September 2026. To wrap up the festival on World Cleanup Day, we’ll be gathering in
Mount Maunganui for a hands-on community day focused on looking after our coastline.
Whether you’re passionate about the moana, curious about microplastics, keen to learn more about
local restoration work, or simply want to do something positive with others in the community, we’d love
to see you there.
We’ll spend the day taking small, practical actions that make a real difference. Together we’ll
sieve sand along the wrack line to collect microplastics, chat about planting work around
stormwater outlets, and head over to Moturiki Island for a clean-up.
Date: Sunday, 20 September
Time: 10am
Location: Meet at the Mt Maunganui Cenotaph
Cost: Free, please register as this helps us communicate with you if there are changes.
Please bring water, sun protection, suitable footwear, gardening type gloves if you have them, and a positive attitude. Bring a friend, bring the whānau, or come along solo - everyone is welcome.
