The Eastern Bay of Plenty Beekeepers Club was formed as a group for local Beekeepers to network. We are a community-focused group who share knowledge, resources and promote ethical Beekeeping practice.
Environment Te Puke aims are to work towards the protection and enhancement of our natural environment for the benefit of current and future generations; to promote public awareness and participation in caring for Te Puke's environment and to carry out investigations to look at the options for restoring and promoting the environment.
Eastern Bay of Plenty Forest & Bird is your local Voice for Nature. We speak up to councils & the government to protect the coast, waterways & forests. We grow & sell native plants & support local restoration projects.
Our group is called Friends of I’Anson Bush Reserve. We are a fun group who hold monthly working bees where we undertake pest plant and animal control. Our aim is to reclaim the reserve(from the weeds) so nature can thrive. The reserve is in Loop Road in Te Puna.
Every fortnight eight volunteers go to control of rats, possums and mustelids [stoats] etc. Established in 2007, and ongoing to the end of time. Every three months, members do a 5 minute bird count at five constant locations
Part of the local resident’s group Whakamarama Community Inc, Friends of the Blade/Pa Kereru is a community conservation group tasked with running a pest control program covering close to 300 hectares of Kaimai Forest Park. The work is carried out by a growing group of dedicated volunteers who give their time to check and re-bait rat, possum, and stoat traps. Since receiving funding in 2017 to expand from their original area of around 90 hectares, there is plenty of work to do!
Fulfilled are two dads looking to ensure that our environment is as it should be for our children. Our organisation's key focus is to empower people to become kaitiaki of our whenua. Fulfilled is currently a social movement that encourages people to get together, get active out in our environment and to remove the negative impact of humans on our natural surroundings by removing litter.
