Tauranga Forest & Bird

Defending New Zealand's wildlife and wild places - on land and in our oceans. Join us and be a voice for nature.

Tauranga branch of Forest & Bird works and advocates for nature locally and in Aotearoa. The branch actively participates in the Manaaki Kaimai Mamaku Forum which aims to see restoration of the forests through large scale pest control. At sea, we support the small Motiti iwi Trust seeking protection of marine life at Motiti. Local projects include pest control on Mauao, Aongatete Forest Project and restoration of the Papamoa dunes and I'Anson reserve. We submit on local and regional plans and activities with the support of our national organisation and experts, as well as nationally significant issues like climate change.
