The Tikitapu Nature Walk is a short easy walk through tawa forest. The track begins on the grassy area on the eastern side of Tarawera Rd at Blue Lake. The Rotorua Forest and Bird carry out pest management in this area and maintain the track with support of DoC. While on the walk we will talk about the ‘rat lines’ and ‘bait lines’ there will also be an opportunity to explore the ‘ridge track’ if an extended walk is desired. Bring: Suitable walking shoes (the ridge track can be muddy) and suitable walking clothes, water and snacks.
