Taking Back our Beach – Fundraiser Movie Night

The Rena disaster in October 2011 - New Zealand’s largest environmental disaster - left oil and debris across the beaches of Tauranga Moana, killing wildlife and creating a toxic mess. The documentary is made up of interviews with 35 local people and features the community’s efforts to clean up their beach.
Come and join us and Volunteering Services for a Movie Night Fundraiser, watching a locally produced documentary about a part of Tauranga's History. We're raising funds for two conservation groups ARRC and Western Bay Wildlife who were instrumental in the care of wildlife before, during, and after the disaster.
Representatives from the charities will be available for a Q&A session at the movie night and funds raised will be shared by the two.  Find out more about emergency volunteer opportunies from the Volunteering Services team.
Gold Coin raffles are also available on the evening.
Arrive at 6.15pm for networking and raffles. The movie commences at 6.45pm. Q&A and raffles drawn after the movie.
We hope you can join us in a celebration of volunteers and community pulling together in the face of adversity.
