4-Week Community Gardening Programme
Presented by The Floral Hub & Village Green Community Hub
🌱 Hands-on workshops with passionate local flower growers!
📍 Venues: Each session at a different local flower garden👉 Full venue details provided upon registration
⏰ Time: 10:00 – 11:30 am (Morning Tea Included)
💲 Fee: $30 per workshop

9 October – Garden Design and the New Perennial Garden (Fully Booked!)
👩‍🌾 Chanel O'Connor
Chanel O'Connor is a self taught cut flower grower. She began growing King White Protea 12 years ago and gradually developed a small export business. Alongside this she began growing a variety of cut flowers and also flowering shrubs with the goal of having flowers to pick and sell all year round. Most recently she has developed a perennial garden.
16 October – Growing from Seed, Propagation and Soil (One Spot available!)
👩‍🌾 Louise Hardy
Louise is a flower grower for The Floral Hub Tauranga with a passion for soil, compost and growing from seed. With an education in the sciences and a previous holder of organic certification, this knowledge is being used to foster healthy soil and plant growth.

👩‍🌾 Anna Engels
Anna Engels from Shade Studio is a botanical artist, cut flower grower and carer of our natural environment. Her practice stems from her deep appreciation and care for New Zealand’s native ecologies and her work aims to foster genuine care for these spaces through the medium of flowers and art.Anna will teach you how to create a hand-tied bouquet, guiding you on types of flowers and foliage and demonstrating how to assemble a beautiful gathered-from-the-garden bouquet.
👩‍🌾 Who can join?
Anyone interested in flowers and gardening – no prior experience needed!Bring comfortable gardening clothes, optional gloves, and note-taking tools.
☕ Morning tea, discussion time, and printed handouts included
🌱 Together, we’ll also create a small garden at the Village Green Community Hub during the practical session!
