Breakfast with the Gulls Maketu Ongatoro Wetland Society
Discover the incredible red-billed gulls, including the critically endangered black-billed gulls and the declining NZ dotterel as they gather at their breeding colony on Maketu Spit.

Location: Maketū SpitExperience the beauty of nature as you enjoy a delicious breakfast on the beach, and then embark on a guided boat trip to the heart of the bird colony.
This annual event is a collaborative effort between the Maketū Ōngātoro Wetland Society, Maketū Rotary, and Maketū Surf Lifesaving Club.
