48-hour Second-hand Fashion Competition

We invite you to participate in this year’s 48-Hour Second-hand Fashion Competition! Create a ready-to-wear outfit using garments destined for landfill, into a ready-to-wear outfit in just 48 hours!

This year’s theme is ‘My Winter Wardrobe’, we’re eager to see your vision for the perfect winter outfit come to life in your design. Whether it’s the ultimate cozy ensemble for a chilly night indoors or the go-to gear for tackling frosty mornings outside, you’ll be transforming discarded clothing into a stylish winter look that reflects your personal flair. Let your creativity shine as you upcycle a winter-ready outfit that you’d love to rock this season!

The two categories for the 48-Hour Second-hand Fashion Competition are the high school category and the open category, 1st place in each category will be awarded $250, with runner-up receiving $100 each.

Key dates:
- Friday 5 July: Registrations close.

- Saturday 6 July: Competition starts. Collect your garments to upcycle from Envirohub BOP, 31B Glasgow Street, Tauranga, 3110, between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

- Monday 8 July: Competition finishes. Hand in your completed look to Envirohub BOP with name and contact details attached between 10:00am and 6:00pm.
- Saturday 27th July: Fashion show and awards ceremony at The Cargo Shed, 5 Dive Crescent, Tauranga City 3110. Arrive at 4:00pm for a run-through of the catwalk and to explain your design to the judges. The event is to commence at 6:30pm.
