Tēnā koutou katoa,
This workshop will be exploring our backyard to identify different forms of Rongoā and a basic introduction to Rongoā Māori. Please bring a healthy shared kai, water bottle and wear sturdy footwear due to uneven terrain. A great opportunity to share the safe practices of using what mother nature has made readily available around us. Some of the content we will touch on will be:
🌲 What is “Rongoā Māori”
🌲 Tikanga (traditional Māori practices)
🌲Plant Identification.
🌲 Sustainable harvesting and utilisation of certain rongoā.
🌲 Make an inu (tea/drink) from something we harvest on the day.
🌲 Network with like-minded people.
Please bring sturdy footwear, and appropriate clothing for the day, pen and paper to take notes a plate (of Healthy Kai/food) for a shared lunch, a mug/cup for the inu we make and your water bottle to stay hydrated. Our Rongoā Māori wānanga/workshops are introductory in nature and not suitable for persons wanting to learn to make rongoā for commercial purposes. Mauri ora! Hone Moetara
