Upcycled Menacing Mushy Brooches Workshop

Transform old/scrap fabrics into charming and troublesome mushroom brooches with Fungi Fest NZ!

Join us for an afternoon of laughter, craft, and the joy of creating your very own Menacing Mushy Brooch – a unique accessory that is bound to turn heads!

Please note:
All children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult - we are all about learning together! You can book one spot and collaborate on a brooch or book 2 spots and help each other out with your own individual creations.

When: Saturday 29th March, 12pm-1:30pm

What to bring...
- a collection of scrap fabrics or old torn clothes from home or a local second hand store
- any scavenged embellishments you would like to add - old buttons make great eyes!
- empty cereal box if you wish to copy any of the patterns to take home to use again

What You'll Learn...
- Textile Crafting: Dive into the art of working with various fabrics as Darrinee Horton guides you through the process of creating unique and menacing mushroom brooches.
- Utilize a range of tools including glue guns, scissors, needles and thread, fabric pens, and more to bring your Menacing Mushy Brooches to life.
- Learn how to use pattern templates and card/plastic reinforcing to enhance the structure and design of your brooches.
- Add your personal touch with buttons, embellishments, and various creative elements to make your brooch truly one-of-a-kind.
- learn about the different parts of the mushroom as you create and why fungi are so important to our ecosystem.
