SUMMARY:CANCELLED: Survival of the Fittest: Learn about Marine Pest Species through Gameplay
DESCRIPTION:Do you know how to spot an invasive paddle crab\, or what to do if you see one? Join us to explore the moana and learn why invasive pest species are a threat to our coastal ecosystems. Kids aged 7–10\, with basic reading and maths skills\, can learn without getting wet\, with Marine Invaders\, an interactive game where they work together in groups for a game of survival of the fittest\, and face pest species again native species. It’s a hands-on\, engaging way for tamariki to learn about the ocean\, teamwork\, and protecting Aotearoa’s unique marine environment. \nWhen: Sunday 15th March\, 1pm \nWhere: CANCELLED \nTickets: CANCELLED \nAdults need to stay with their children. \nSuitable for Children 7-10 years old \nAccessibility – We want everyone to feel welcome at our events\, if you have any physical\, sensory\, or other accessibility needs\, please make contact ahead of time so we can support you.\nPhotography – Please note that photographs and videos may be taken at our events and used on our social media and website. If you or your children do not wish to be photographed\, just let a staff member or volunteer know when you arrive.\nTransport – To minimise environmental impact\, we encourage walking\, biking\, carpooling\, or using public transport to attend.
