Guided Walk at Ōtanewainuku Forest
June 20 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Join conservation legend Carole Long on a guided walk in the beautiful Ōtanewainuku Forest. Located 20km south of Tauranga, the virgin, unlogged Ōtanewainuku forest is home to thriving native birds and wildlife. Magnificent rimu trees are a common characteristic of the forest, along with over 300 indigenous plant species.
On this gentle stroll through a unique piece of New Zealand bush, you’ll learn about the trees, birds and insects that call this area home.
To join this walk, meet Carole at the DOC shelter on Mountain Road at 10.30am. Wear sturdy shoes, warm clothing and take water with you.
