SUMMARY:FREE Bike Tour
DESCRIPTION:The tour will include Māori History and Legend\, but also the European History after the land was confiscated. \nWe’ll take a short walking trip over Puketoromiro Pa on the newly established floating walkway\, then ride by the new river realignment project which will be in progress. \nYour tour guide will discuss the development of the Valley for the past 15 years or so and explain the wetland restoration project and the importance of biodiversity in the valley. \nWe’ll also be pointing out the native birds we see on route! \n*Note: If it’s a hot day please bring some water for refreshment. It’s approximately 12 Km to ride\, so a reasonable level of fitness is required 😊 \n———— Important: BYO Bike & Helmet ————— \nMeet at the end of 17th Avenue near the skate park\, we’ll begin the tour here as it’s an entry to the reserve. It’s a beautiful ride\, come join us! \nThis is a FREE event\, please RSVP so we know how many people are coming on the tour.
