DESCRIPTION:Bicycle Maintenance Class. As a Club 99 member\, you’re invited to come along to our store and attend a free basic maintenance class. \nHere’s what we’ll cover: \n1) Assessing your bike is safe to ride \nGOAL: to gain confidence independently resolving simple mechanical issues\nKEY LEARNINGS:\nHow to use quick releases.\nHow to use a mini tool / allen key set.\nBasic competency with bolt tensions.\nBasic competency with a pedal spanner.\nWhere to use grease.\nKnowing when to get help. \n2) Cleaning your bike \nGOAL: to understand a process to follow to clean your bike\nKEY LEARNINGS:\nWhat to use to clean your bike.\nWhere to clean versus where to degrease.\nHow to apply and remove chain lube.\nWhich lubes for which conditions? \n3) Changing a tyre and tube \nGOAL: to be able to change your tube if you get a flat while out riding\nKEY LEARNINGS:\nWhat I need to change a tube?\nWhat size tube I need for my bike?\nDifferences in valve types?\nHow to find and resolve what caused the flat?\nWhat you need: 1 x pair of hands\, and rolled up sleeves. \nNote: Please do not bring your bike along to this class.
