Entry is free. 🙂

Entries will be judged on a combination of the following: Sustainability, Innovation, Creativity, Wearability, Stage Impact, Functionality.

You cannot enter a piece that has been entered in the Sustainable Art Challenge in previous years.

Trash to Fash:
Create a masterpiece out of hard/soft materials by upcycling fabric scraps and old garments, or make something stunning out of ‘waste’ from around home or work. Be prepared to strut your stuff at the live ‘Trash to Fash’ show on awards night. Group/Individual.

Upcycled Junk:
Let your creative juices flow. The aim is to divert waste from landfill, so the only rule is that you can’t buy new primary materials. Group/Individual.

Photography:
Take a single photograph or a photo story (3-5 photos). Individual.

Short Movie:
Create a short film (up to 2 minutes) to encourage viewers to recycle, protect waterways, have a wormfarm, grow their own veges, not litter etc. Group/Individual.

Upcycled Junk entries from Intermediate and Secondary students within the Western Bay of Plenty and Tauranga districts will be collected from schools by Envirohub BOP volunteers. Envirohub will take every care to collect and return art pieces but will not be responsible for any damage incurred. Oversized items will need to be delivered/collected by the student on the specified day.

Photograph entries will need to be submitted digitally, along with a professionally printed 8 x 10 inch copy stuck on black card supplied to Envirohub BOP, along with the registration form by 9th June 2017.

Trash to Fash entrants will be required to arrive early at Baycourt for the fashion show rehearsal, and remain on site until the awards ceremony concludes. Entrants are responsible for organising their own hair and makeup prior to arrival at Baycourt; and will be responsible for bringing their Trash to Fash entries on the day, and collecting them from Baycourt (after the show) or Creative Tauranga (after the exhibition closes).

All other entries must be delivered to/collected from Baycourt or Creative Tauranga on the specified day.

Winning entries and runner up entries from all categories (depending on gallery space) will be kept after the awards ceremony, for display at Creative Tauranga for 2 weeks; and will need to be collected promptly when the exhibition has finished.

Entries from all categories may be invited to be part of a display at the A&P Lifestyle show to be held sometime January 2018.

Envirohub BOP retain the right to use SAC entry images for promotional purposes in relation to the Sustainable Art Challenge and Envirohub BOP.
