There are many reasons why people take up beekeeping. It is a scientifically stimulating hobby, a great way to make additional income, involves kids in nature, enhances your outdoor or garden space, increases biodiversity, regenerates the dwindling bee species, contributes to critical pollination, and let’s not forget the bonus of the honey and wax!
Mac Koia, the passionate and knowledgeable founder of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Beekeepers Club, is offering you all an unbeelievably awesome course! It is comprehensive, exciting and affordable.
First up, we have a FREE and CASUAL interest meeting on Saturday 28 April, 10am – 12pm in the Historic Village Cinema. This first training meeting is a general introduction to see if beekeeping and continuing the rest of the course is something for you!
From this meeting, he is looking to find 10 committed participants to come along on the beekeeping journey. The course will be 8 biweekly sessions (Saturday 10am – 12pm) in Tauranga, and some online material. He is offering a freebee starter hive upon completion of the course for your own backyard.

Total cost of the course is $100 for Regional Environmental Network Group Members
$150 for non-members
