VISION: A sustainable Bay of Plenty
MISSION: To promote environmental sustainability
VALUES: Show deep respect for our environment and act bravely on its behalf. Be innovative, credible and memorable.
We’re based in an 1896 classroom at Tauranga’s Historic Village, surrounded by flourishing organic gardens that are part of our Mahinga Kai (Working the Garden) project, just one of our community initiatives. The building serves as our Living Environment classroom, where we run workshops on anything from beekeeping to composting and worm farming. We also run talks and seminars led by inspiring local, national and international speakers. Other key projects include Sustainable Backyards, Trees for Survival, and hiring out the Hydrohub (a portable water dispensing unit).
Envirohub Bay of Plenty is the trading name of the Tauranga Environment Centre Charitable Trust. Founded in 2001 the Trust has core operational funding from the Ministry for the Environment and receives specific project funding, contracts and grants from a range of local authorities and funding bodies.
Our mission is to provide and promote environmental education, advocacy, and action that supports a sustainable future.
